Gooey Tail A a generic tail that can be used to make may different Gooey Flies. By tying the tail material in forward and reversing it over it self, it forces the material to point upwards at an angle and locks the material in. The colors used in this example is Green Graft Fur over White Craft Fur with a Pearl Angle Hair accent. The Tail material can be any combination and number of colors, flash and body materials.
Attach the Bottom Attach mono thread at hook eye and secure. Cut a small tuft of White Craft Fur and secure it at the front of hook pointing forward. Foil the fur backwards and secure. Keep all the material close to the hook eye leaving a small space behind the hook eye.
Add The Flash Pull 5-10 strands of Pearl Angle Hair from the pack. Fold the Angle Hair in half around the mono thread and secured at hook eye. This will lock in the Angle Hair so that it will not pull out.
Attach the Top Cut a small tuft of Green Craft Fur and secure it at the front of the hook pointing forward.
Secure the Top Pull the Green Craft Fur backwards. Gather the all of the tail material and pull backwards. Secure the tail at the hook eye and whip finish.
Finished Tail The tail material is secured behind the hook eye pointing upwards at a slight angle. All material is tied on top of the hook shank with Ultra/Fine Mono Thread. This type of tail can be made out of any body material and flash.
